Most people don’t even know that Visegrád is the smallest town in the country with its 1700 residents.

This national memorial place with a restless history celebrates its Millennium in 2009.

This small community has been a scene of peaceful and creative living for hundreds of years with Hungarian and German nationalities in harmony with each other. Our town and its environment welcomes everyone all year round, here at the meeting point of the Danube Band and Pilis mountains natural heritage and the extremely rich constructed heritage due to the hard work of famous and long time ago forgotten simple people.

Those who visit Visegrád nowadays besides the heritage of nature and ancestors can also take part in the every day life of this exciting town with its very rich culture: excellent restaurants, pleasant and high level accommodation, various programs ensure your relaxation.
One of our most famous events is the International Palace Games held traditionally in July, which festival is known all over the world with a decade-long history.
